MINI-MIZE S.W.E.A.T. WORKSHOP

Today’s societal stress have an impact on children, resulting in an over-stressed childhood. Mini-Mize S.W.E.A.T. is an equine-assisted workshop designed to develop, promote and strengthen critical social and emotional skills for children in grades 3-6.

The amount of stress faced by children today can seem overwhelming and can threaten a child’s social and emotional well-being. Our Mini-Mize S.W.E.A.T. Workshops are designed to teach children, grades 3-6, coping skills to help better cope with these everyday stresses.

Workshops feature Graham Cracker and Tater Tot, both therapy miniature horses, and Petey the Pony, named 2018 national equine of the year by PATH, Intl. Our equine partners assist participants in practicing social-emotional skills. Workshop activities are based on the five competencies identified by Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

Workshops are hosted at Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship on select Saturdays for individual participants. Cost is $60 per participant per session.

For school groups and larger groups up to 10 participants, Workshops can be hosted upon request, including off-site sessions. Cost varies.

“It was fantastic and exceeded our expectations by far. I think the many tangible ways you taught the kids to consider their strengths and feelings and tactics to manage them was engaging and lasting.”

“The skills she learned will help her with her emotions and frustrations in all aspects of her life. The techniques taught will help her in most situations.”
